Meet Our Champions

James Burke

President & Chairman,
Burke Foundation

James oversees the Burke Foundation founded in 1989 by his late father, James E. Burke, long-time CEO of Johnson & Johnson and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Honor for his ethical leadership. The Foundation is focused on improving the health and wellbeing of at-risk children in New Jersey through targeted interventions in three issue areas: children’s health, early childhood development, and arts education.

Atiya Weiss

Executive Director,
Burke Foundation

As Executive Director, Atiya leads the Burke Foundation’s efforts to invest in the most promising and transformative programs and policies that foster the health, well-being, and resilience of children and families in New Jersey. She oversees the development and execution of its strategies to pursue targeted initiatives and partnerships focused on healthy pregnancies and births, healthy parent-child relationships, and high-quality early learning and care.
